Bettina was really sweet and personable, I have no complaints with working with her. There was a minor hiccup with our file that she handled very well and was apologetic and kind about. When our file was handed over to Maureen, things got difficult as she was significantly less enjoyable to work with and more difficult to communicate with.
Maureen was not very personable, stating legal reasons my background check might not pass including the possibility of failing a drug test (which not included in my work offer contingencies, not sure why that needed to be mentioned or insinuated) and possibility of a previous m urder offense. She only worked outside of the mon-fri, 9 to 5 business days, calling after 7pm or on the weekends. I appreciate the commitment, but I would have appreciated communication within the typical work days/hours as that is more effective and efficient.
The issue with my work offer letter having contingencies was quite frustrating because we had been told that making an offer with a local lender based in Maine would be stronger and that local lenders do not pass files off to another person and are less likely to find errors right before closing. The week before closig Maureen asked for an explanation of a deposit in my bank account from my now deceased grandfather that had been on my bank statement that I submitted back in March before we even received a pre-approval. We should not have received a pre-approval with the work letter, but waiting until the last week before closing for an explanation of a deposit from my deceased grandfather in February was incredibly frustrating and she was not very friendly in our communications like Bettina was. Overall, the experience was fine for what we needed but I do not think I would be recommending these services.
